In three decades, I’d like to think I’ve learnt a lot. I’ve learnt to appreciate time, especially. To appreciate what we have, and what we don’t. To find friends, to leave places, to discover new beliefs, and to leave old ones behind. In cliches, it’s a journey. But really, for me, it has felt episodic in many ways.

Highlight the wind when I breathe,
The sun as I tilt my head,
The plants when I want to feed
And earth when I join the dead…
Honoured guest, do you come to me to seek a life beyond the tree?
Eventually the bridge will collapse and the car will break down. The child will grow and live and then die. The seas will wash away the land and the fish will bloat and float to the surface and the sun will burn their scales. Their bones will sink to the sand below and some day the water will brea
Live each dawn as if first morn,
for every day anew, reborn.
And seek a light to spark each hour…
It gnaws at you
with hungry maw – but subtly,
inconsistently,
the monster of darkness, gray and gloom:
