Correction

Posted on May 23, 2020April 20, 2022 by alexis

Close your eyes

and take a breath,

the world may pass

and have its death,

but long lives legacy

as certain and divine

in unstoppable forces

drawing mathematical lines.

Lines in the sand. Legs that don’t stand.

Destiny may not exist,

but continuity

will not be missed

by cycles and silence,

by evolving, our world

doesn’t need us there

but it certainly will

ask for balance, and fair,

but once we forget

those unstoppable forces

is the day we allow

evolution its courses.

Correction. Scour. Purge and restore.

Pulses of life

may go on their way

but if we refuse change

then we relinquish our say.

Revolve, on to endings

is how it all goes,

while expanding beyond

our uncertain hopes.

The universe wills

what none of us wants,

a tiny blue dot

that insignificance taunts.

And why do we strive

for that legacy, bare?

Our selfish design

against the other, we scare.

So tear apart lands

and rip apart people,

the universe moves

whether or not we are equal.

Evolve, not despair

in this cracked, drying desert,

and pull in the air,

that the forces will hurt.

Correct, or do not,

that certainly matters

in a universe, growing,

to see selfishness scatter.
