Sunlight spills into large glass windows<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

and greenness and life stirs anew,<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

and ten seconds later, the clouds roll on in<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

and rain showers us in the gray-covered din.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

The constant and distant buzz of a scooter,<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

or friends arm-in-arm, enjoying rare warmth,<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

and people in dresses and suits on their bikes,<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

until night comes again and their party-mood strikes.<\/span><\/p>\n

And I, sitting here, in a hot-coffee mood,<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

breathe in the humidity and listen in tune<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

to the streets and the people living their day<\/span><\/p>\n

while I, in my English-ness, <\/span><\/p>\n

\n

have nothing Dutch to say. <\/span><\/p>\n
